New J.Crew ...

Cute once ...

Cute twice.

Lots going on in the new '10 J.Crew catalog, but I'm especially keen on these Zipper Jeans ...

18-Wheeled Boutique? ...

Just when I thought pop-up shops were all the rage, eBay ups the ante with this ... their mobile pop-up shop. Apparently this 18-wheeler is going to park itself in Los Angeles 8 days before Christmas. So creative, I love it. Can you imagine if more retailers did this?

If you knew this was going to be in your town would you pay a visit?

As seen on: All The Rage

Out of the Box ...

J.Crew shop-in-shop at Fred Segal L.A.

I thought this was interesting and smart actually. J.Crew has opened its first men's shop-in-shop over at Fred Segal on Melrose Ave. in L.A. It's a "special selection" shop. Apparently Ron Herman, owner of Fred Segal, handpicked the styles to be sold.

In this economy it's great to see creative solutions. Looks like clever Mickey Drexler has done it again.

Runway Rentals ...

I barely caught mention of this site last week on the Today Show. Somehow it's the only thing my ears zoned in on. It's called Rent The Runway. You basically rent designer pieces and send them back by your allotted time. Designer options include pieces from Proenza Schouler, Catherine Malandrino, Badgley Mischka, and Helmut Lang just to name a few. And rentals start at $50. Sounds interesting, right?

Miu Miu Cocktail Party ...

How funny is this? So after posting about the Miu Miu store being open at South Coast Plaza we're at my parents house over Thanksgiving and there amidst all of their mail is something with my name on it. It's an invite from Miu Miu. After leaving Prada (I worked there for a few years) I guess I left their address as a "permanent" one. Lucky me! Yours truly was invited to their store opening cocktail party! I still can't believe the irony and timing.

Here's a little photo essay for you from this past Wednesday night. Bear with me, it was tough being the only one (aside from the professional photographer … hello!) taking photos that night. I was trying really hard not to look like a dork☺

But the most important photo of all is of the boots! Remember, I couldn’t find one on the ‘net last week? Although my photo does these treasures no justice at all. Just envision eggplant purple and you’re good.

The invite! They used an actual clothing label on both the invite and envelope it came in. Naturally.

I swear I'm on the list.

The entire store was mirrors. Someone had to have walked right into one at some point (drink in hand).

Even the DJ was styled out.

This was the beautiful window dress with amazing open toe lace up boots. And oh yeah, the gold mannequin! Can you get more glamorous?

There was a lot of glitz happening. Bags, shoes, and a glass of wine. Perfection!

Beautiful mirrored shelving with really pretty accessories. If you look closely you can see me in the mirror ... funny.

Very cute little dress with sexy deep v

The boots!

Christmas Time At South Coast ...

Christmas was in full swing at South Coast Plaza this past weekend. My mom and I met there for lunch and then did some shopping. While I didn’t dare drop the old credit card down over at Jimmy Choo I did find the best fitting jean jacket (with side slit pockets!) over at The Gap. But of course I’m supposed to pretend my mom didn’t buy it and act accordingly when I open it on Christmas;) Man, it was hard to part with it.

Windows were decorated. The gigantic tree was up. The bridge was decorated with perfectly manicured bushes and poinsettias, which I’m sure is even prettier at night with all the lights on.

But the best part of the day was the new Miu Miu store! It had just opened its doors the day before. The exterior was this lime green color as was the inside. The F/W collection was so much fun to look through. I fell in love with these knee high aubergine boots that I could not stop thinking about. They had a gum-like sole and heel, just amazing. But they were $975 ... yikes, I know. Would love to show you but cannot find an image of them for the life of me! Oh well, looks like you'll have to make your way over to South Coast and see for yourself :)

Christmas Glam ...

Even though neither of us is most likely in London right now I still wanted to share the temporary Louis Vuitton Christmas store at Selfridges. I can only imagine how holiday-glamorous opening night was! I just think this photo is so pretty. I know it's photoshopped but still. If you are in London the temporary store is open now until Jan. 10, 2010.

Makes me want to put the Christmas lights up this weekend!

A.P.C. ... Los Angeles

It's like they heard me! A.P.C. will now be having a basement sale this side of the country at their LA store. Yay! It's this Saturday & Sunday (11/14, 11/15) from 10am to 6pm. Click here for more info.

Cute Dresses Alert ...

Just got a “new dresses” email from Urban and there were so many cute ones I had to share. Funny, I'm not normally a fan of polkadots (third photo down) but this one's acceptable. It's festive. I guess I’m thinking ahead to all of the holiday parties :)

A.P.C. ... Basement Sale

Starting today thru Sunday (11/1), if you’re lucky enough to be in NYC (love this time of year there) you should hop on over to the A.P.C. Basement Sale. I bought my first A.P.C. coat, in NYC as a matter of fact, several years ago (yikes) and I still wear it every single year. I won’t mention how much I paid for it, which is precisely why you should run over to the Basement Sale! I’m so jealous.

Stella McCartney ... GapKids & babyGap

When I opened up my new issue of Cookie Magazine (pleasant surprise since I thought Oct. was their final issue) this is the first thing I see. L-o-v-i-n-g! Miniature high fashion at miniature prices. Do you see the mini Sgt. Peppers jackets?! I think that's my favorite piece in this photo. According to the ad this collection will be available in "select" Gap stores and online starting November 2. Calendar marked!

Lovely Kate Spade ...

I have a major soft spot for stripes and for the "Behind The Curtain" section (hidden in the top menu bar) of the Kate Spade website. These photos from said section are from their redesigned 5th Avenue shop in NYC. Cool, whimsical and classy all in one. I love it. BTW ... if you're ever in a "need inspiration" mood you have to peruse this "Behind The Curtain" section. It's a creative dream.

Halloween Goodness! ... Sprinkles

Amazing, right? It's really hard for me to veer away from always choosing the red velvet. Throw in a pint of Ben & Jerry's Brownie Batter and it's all over. Luckily red velvet is 1 of the 4 flavors in this Sprinkles "Boo box." The other 3 are vanilla milk chocolate, black & white, and caramel apple. I love how they've created such a stylish identity around a cupcake ... pure epicurean genius. I think I need to order these.

Ebb and Flow ... FUNdraiser

If you’re in the San Diego area Saturday, October 17 head on over to one of my favorite stores Ebb and Flow in Cardiff. Ebb and Flow will be hosting a ‘FUNdraiser for the Arts.’ The local effort is poised to benefit the Cardiff Schools Arts Program. Perfect day to get out in the 80 degree fall weather we're having plus support the arts! The event is from 4pm to 7pm so bring the kiddies!

Face Value...Saks Fifth Avenue

Were you as excited as I was to see the Saks catalog in the mail yesterday? Enough to cut out the cover and frame it? Me too! Turns out there are four different catalogs, in four different colors and titles..."Face Value," Breaking News," "Want It," and "Fashion Catalog." Makes me want to collect all four!
