Pretty Karen ...

Simple ... I just love this pretty image of Karen Elson. It's very laid-back 70's. Denim top (which I'm secretly hoping is a jumpsuit), reindeer mug and all.

I Want To Be Here ...

This is where I'd like to be today. Having breakfast, chatting with a friend or two over coffee. People watching and admiring the architecture and those great red awnings across the way. The photographer who took this, Jackie Rueda, says "when I am here I feel gorgeous." I totally get it. This cafe happens to be in Montreal. Somewhere I've never been, but have always wanted to visit. Have you been?

Did you have a good Valentine's yesterday? Since we didn't have anything particularly special planned last night my parents surprised us with mexican take-out, all of the essentials (including their blender!) for strawberry margaritas and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. They're pretty awesome. Was definitely feeling the love. Hope you did too:)

"Be" The Love Today ...

Whether you're solo or in a relationship ... Happy Valentine's Day to you! Today (and everyday really) is about love. Not just to have, but to "be." "Be" the love today to family, neighbors, lovers, friends, co-workers, and even strangers you happen to run across today (and everyday). You'll be better for it and so will the world.
P.S. If you need a last minute adorable card check out these free printables over at The Post Social by our friend Brandis over at Little Rabbit Print. And if you're celebrating with a night in check out this great dinner suggestion and great cocktail idea.

Good Monday To You ...

Good Monday party people. First, I apologize for not having a post on Friday. I really intended to do one but the day got away from me. Forgive?

Oh my gosh you guys, I was so, so sad to hear about Whitney! It goes without saying that she was a huge talent, but I realized it even more when every single song they played throughout the weekend was such a hit! I remember tying a bow in my hair with a scarf after seeing her in the "How Will I Know" video. I definitely got teary this weekend listening to all of her amazing songs. She will be immensely missed. My heart and prayers go out to her family.

With such heavy hearts, I thought LL Cool J did a great job with his Grammy's opener. Did you watch? Jennifer Hudson's tribute was so touching. And it was really great to hear Adele's post surgery voice sounding amazing. I was absolutely elated that she won all six categories she was nominated for. I don't know about you, but I was relieved and happy that grace and glamour won over shock (Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj). Not that those ladies aren't talented, but talent wrapped up in shock is actually getting tired. Our world needs more grace and glamour. No more shock please.

So with that, here's to a good week with some grace and glamour!

I Don't Know, But I Like It ...

Been a while since I've come across an IDKBILI. Dancing amongst the weeds is she? Or is she landing ever so softly after jumping that fence? Love her whimsy. Love the pink with the dash of blue. And those legs ... for days!

Fun alert: Eric (the hubs) and I had fun putting together our Valentine wish lists for TPS. Check them out here.

Drapes & Blue Couches ...

Two things that have been on my mind lately ... dramatic drapes and blue couches. I'm usually a wooden blinds or shutters type of person but drapes are definitely leaving a different impression on me now. I especially love these floor to ceiling ones.
Now I've always known that I would love to have a blue couch someday, but it has to be the right one. And this one here is pretty perfect. I think it's because I usually go the way of neutrals for my big pieces. The perfect shade of blue would be great amongst so much neutral–as seen here in this pic. What about you? Would you consider something like a blue couch?

Smart & Comfortable ...

Was perusing Krista's awesome tumblr, A Note On Design, when I ran across this great photo. How cute is her bow tie? And are those jodhpur jeans?! I think I see a DIY with some old boyfriend jeans in my alterations person's future. Everything right down to the booties is inspiring me right now. Including her long hair. Just last night I was mentioning how I want to cut my hair shorter. Funny how we can do a full 180º in a matter of one photo, right?

P.S. We just posted a really great Valentine's Day cocktail DIY called The Traditional Bee's Knees over at The Post Social. Check it out, I think you'll like:)

It's 5pm Somewhere ...

So here we are at Friday and I'm still fighting this head cold thing. Ugh. Anyone else battling this thing? I've definitely gotten better, but the bugger keeps lingering. Although, I don't have much to complain about since our weather this past week has been hovering about 70º+. And since Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow yesterday declaring six more weeks of this, well we really can't complain.

So you watching the Super Bowl Sunday? We definitely will be. But to be honest I'm looking forward to the commercials and Madonna's performance the most. Apparently she's going to sing three old songs and one new one–so should be good. She looked amazing at her press conference yesterday, anyone see that?! Don't forget to record Anna Wintour's interview on '60 Minutes' Sunday. It airs during the super bowl.

And lastly, I was overwhelmed by all of the wonderful comments over at the "mini-view" Q&A I did over on Inspiration Cooperative. Thank you, they made my week! Hope everyone has a great weekend! Group hug:)

In case you missed it ... some fun "Post Marks" from The Post Social this week:
Some great menswear tumblrs
Obsessive Chopping Disorder chopping block, so great!
A great looking family kitchen

Now & Then ...

First of all, I point this out in good fun because I am actually a fan of JT. We all know that JT would be the first one to poke fun at himself and the glaring difference in years (and stylists). Go ahead, take this in for a minute. It really is a gem. Remember the denim duo? That's back when JT had his cup o' noodles hair. But look at him now would you? Handsome as ever! (second to the hubs of course;). Seriously he and Jessica make such a handsome couple, don't they? I'm not gonna dis on Brit Brit because there were many crying, teenaged girls that wanted to be her that day in denim. Plus, I'm happy girl seems to be back on track.

Happy Groundhog Day! Apparently Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today which means six more weeks of winter. Thoughts?

Space of Magic ...

I love seeing the space of a creative person. It's like a sneak peak into where the magic all happens. Alexander Girard working in his studio, circa 1972. Inspiring.
