This is where I'd like to be today. Having breakfast, chatting with a friend or two over coffee. People watching and admiring the architecture and those great red awnings across the way. The photographer who took this,
Jackie Rueda, says "when I am here I feel gorgeous." I totally get it. This cafe happens to be in Montreal. Somewhere I've never been, but have always wanted to visit. Have you been?
Did you have a good Valentine's yesterday? Since we didn't have anything particularly special planned last night my parents surprised us with mexican take-out, all of the essentials (including their blender!) for strawberry margaritas and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. They're pretty awesome. Was definitely feeling the love. Hope you did too:)

I've been to Montreal once. Didn't count as it was a layover to England. But the food at the airport was really good! But now I want to go- that photo reminds me of Paris.
PS... I love hearing about your parents. They sound so fun!
I really do want to go to Montreal - I've heard really great things. This just confirms I need to go there in the summer time
I've been to montreal a handful of times....but i honestly thought this was Nice, France
Go MTL!
I certainly wouldn't object to some time spent outdoors people watching in Montreal. I can't wait until the weather warms up a bit more here in DC so I can do the same in my neighborhood.
Yes, I've been to Montreal; my daughter used to live there. And it's a wonderful, magical city full of great foods and cafes and style and music and just plain delight. It's like being in another country even while it's part of my beautiful Canada.
I'd like to be there with you!
yay i live here! and yes, this image is of the old port-- probably the prettiest part of the city. i've already begun my countdown to springtime!
What a beautiful photo. Would love to be right there, right now too.
I've been to Montreal once. It feels very European. In fact, I think most people speak both English and French there. It is a really beautiful city.
Oh, H, I swear I had commented on yesterday's post. Must have got distracted ;) Well, happy belated Valentine's Day! Your night sounded perfect. (Your parents: Awww!)
The outing you described is exactly what I love about traveling. I haven't been to Montreal before, but I would absolutely love to go someday.
Take me with you? From this snap I can tell I would love it!
Our valentine's included dinner with my sister in-law :-) Who's to say that valentine's is only for you and your significant other?

it's such a great scenery, similar to Paris or Milan .. x
I'd like to be there with you. I imagine we would have, originally met for morning coffee and a pastry, but the conversation was so good it spilled over into lunch and another meal and drinks. Rember the days with no agenda and work could actually be blown off. This was before kids of course.
Sunshine and cheer !
this is so lovely. I love Montreal. you should go visit. It's such a fun city and so lovely. The last time I was there was nearly 3 years ago when I had some photos in a show. It was winter and freezing...summer is MUCH better.
