Weekend Of Laughs ...

Whatever it is you're doing this weekend I hope it involves tons of laughter. In fact, I wish I had a good joke to tell you right now but can't think of one. Why doesn't anyone tell jokes anymore? Do you have a good one? What was the last thing you really laughed at? Mine was this morning ...

16 mo. old: (with conviction) Galerg, galeeg, galerg.

16 mo. old: (two seconds later) Momma!!!!

Me: (less than one foot away) I'm right here bud, what's up?

16 mo. old: Galerg, galeeg, galerg, ball.

Me: Oh, you want your ...

16 mo. old: Mom!!!!!!

Read this repeatedly about 1,127 times and you'll get a smidge of my typical day. After a while, I have to laugh:) Hope everyone has a great weekend! Group hug:)

I Heart Beer ...

I do. Don't worry, I'm still as sophisticated as you think I am. I do enjoy the occasional glass of vino, in fact I wish I were better versed in wine, but a pint really does the trick. I read an article a few months ago in Fast Company where the focus was trying to brand/advertise beer to women. I never realized it was such a big challenge to market beer to women. Did you? In fact, I didn't even know they were trying. But one thing is for sure, please beer companies, do not "pink it and shrink it." Isn't that a great tag line? An example of this, as the issue pointed out, would be mini pink tool kits. Yikes. Seriously though, I loathe the day I see a pink Guinness label.

Bang Dilemma ...

Now that my hair dries straight and frizz-free I've been obsessed with getting bangs. But I have this rule that I cannot do anything for at least one month so as to allow enough time for the novelty to wear off. I'm coming up on the half way mark and I'm still obsessing. Right now my hair is pretty much all one length with some layers and to about the middle of my back. If I get enough guts I'll do a before and after photo for you. Ugh, you'd think I was trying to solve world peace!

DIY Pom Pom Cuteness ...

Remember the Nomad hats from DVF last winter? Well, Jazzi was clever and brave enough to make her own. I think it came out really well and it only took her about an hour or so to make. The best part? It only cost an impressive $8! Now if I only had a place to wear it. Too over the top for Target?

P.S. I know it's gonna start getting warm soon to even think about wearing one of these but just think, if you started making some now throughout summer you'll have some great gifts come Christmas. And how cute would small one's look on babies?!

Still love this photo of Kate with her messy hair and tiara (sans the smuggling raisins). I actually made a similar t-shirt in high school where I cut the sides and re-sewed them by hand so the shirt had an askewness about it. My mom thought I was ruining a perfectly good shirt. I thought I was brilliant and wore it with pride. So brilliant, I have no idea what I did with it. Ever have those moments growing up?

When Two Worlds Collide ...

Skateboarding tends to be synonymous with rebellion and being against the establishment but this particular photo begs to differ. Look at his form, not so different from that of a dancer. Both have to be light on their feet and able to move with precision. The skatepark itself is an architectural marvel with all of its perfect curves and hips, with just the right amount of flat ground. Skateboarding is actually really fun and interesting to watch–the things they do are really amazing. It would be nice if all communities had nice looking, well designed skateparks like this one.

It's Tricky ...

Love the color scheme happening here between her blonde locks, red lips, gray dress and surrounding greenery. But let's talk about this dress ... it's off the shoulder which qualifies as sexy, and it's loose and flowing which qualifies as forgiving. "Sexy" and "forgiving" are two of my favorite words when it comes to fashion.

And then after all that I had to laugh because I thought "wait, is she just wearing a sheet?" Oh fashion, you're so funny sometimes. Regardless, I still love the color scheme happening here:)

P.S. I do in fact realize she could use a brassiere, but let's just give her a pass this time.

PUBLIC Love ...

Not only did I love the bike, but the basket on the back too.

And just carry it right on into your house. Love that.

So I was flipping through the new Vanity Fair (you know what I'm talking about;) and I came across this awesome orange bike from a company called PUBLIC. I love it when I run into a company that I end up enjoying well beyond just their product. Although, they don't consider themselves a "company" since they don't care to make bikes faster or fancier, but rather they "design bikes to help make city life a little simpler and a little more fun." Don't you love that? Then it got more interesting as I read that the founder of PUBLIC is also the founder of DWR, Rob Forbes–who knew?! PUBLIC definitely passes the unofficial Happenstance "M.A.V." (Message, Aesthetic, Vibe) test. They even tell you to stop by their offices if you're in the SF area. Who does that anymore?
