Strange Brew ...

Can they look any more stylish and annoyed? Actually their expressions remind me of my encounter with the new mermaid at Starbucks yesterday. When the barista handed me my coffee I immediately noticed that the transition from old to revised mermaid has officially taken place. It just looked weird, not fun. Actually I think my exact reaction was an indoor-voice "eww." Then I apologized and let him know that I know it wasn't his decision. Then we had a friendly Three's Company laugh and agreed that she does look a bit unfinished, bare. Then I left 'cause in the end my coffee is still the same. Tall, in a grande cup, with cream and four raw sugars. Is that weird? How do you take yours?

mmmm...I'll have what you're having.

And yes I was thinking the same thing, very bare.

so funny – I had my first "new starbucks cup" experience about an hour ago and was completely taken by surprise! not sure if I don't like it because I was so accustomed to the old one and this is unfamiliar, or if I actually don't like it. takes something getting used to, that's for sure. my drink is a soy chai or a vanilla latte. mmmmm.

I tweeted Starbucks and told them I hated it!
I get so many different drinks, I can't list them all.

I don't drink coffee but a Starbucks salted caramel hot chocolate is happily welcomed in my belly at any time.

You shouldn't ask me that question because I used to work at Starbucks and am very picky with my drinks!
The simplified version would be decaf tall nonfat no foam toffee nut latte.
(I know it sounds annoying, but other baristas understand!)

Agreed! Not loving the new logo. I've been drinking a Grande Americano w/ 1/2 inch of steamed soy. High maintenance, I know.

This is what you should know about me: I had no idea what the mermaid was. I simply never go to Starbucks. Or buy coffee. I did hear they have cakepops now though.

I think I will make it my life goal to appear stylish & annoyed whenever possible.

venti bold...black. But if it's Sumatra I secretly punish Starbucks for making a poor choice and only get a grande pike.

Their Tribute blend is sadly way too mild, but I made up for it today by adding a shot of espresso.

Tall, one pump caramel, soy, latte.
And yes...I said the same thing. Actually it was more like "Ehhh".

Oh, I disagree completely! I love the "new" mermaid. I think Starbuck's did a great job putting something fresh and modern take on their logo.

I had to make sure the Three's Company reference...went there...laughed out loud! I prefer Dunkin Donuts...Since it's an east coast thing i actually have to make it myself. Cream and sugar please.

I really like the new logo and simplicity of it - and the green i enjoy also.

warm day - iced coffee unsweetend with a splash of soy.

cold day - drip of the day with a little steamed milk.

love this photo.
