Hand Gestures ...

These images are part of a series called "Gestures" by photographer Saul Robbins. I absolutely love how the doings of hands have so much personal energy even when captured in all its stillness. We handle things daily, every second. But I've never taken the time to actually visualize just how loudly our gestures, even the simple ones, speak. I found it quite amazing and beautiful actually.

Love those. It reminds me of a friend of mine who is a nurse....she says that whenever one of her patients passes, she holds their hand and looks at it and thinks of all the things it did throughout the person's lifetime. Such a nice way to honor someone!

I really love these. Sometimes we don't even realize all the little things we need our hands for, but they are our instrument to achieve things. These photos do indeed speak powerfully - I love this series!

I am in love with this series! As dancers we try to do this but we never quite captured the essence of it like this photographer. I mean, the purpose is so much more tangible when seeing photos like this.

These are beautiful, evocative photos. I'm a sign language interpreter and am constantly moving my hands into shapes even when I'm not interpreting! I take it for granted what our hands can do!
