Sharpied Birkin? ...

Remember my utter confusion in my "Bedazzled Birkin?" post last month? Well, apparently it's a trend–this defacing of the beloved Birkin bag. Lady Gaga has now taken a Sharpie to hers and according to insiders it says "I love little monster, Tokyo love." I like you, but really Gaga? You couldn't simply have written it on a t-shirt or your face (obviously, you couldn't keep it to just your arm)? I know you're akin to outrageous fashion but this is almost a crime. Can you imagine writing on your Birkin with a Sharpie? Even if someone was holding a gun to my head insisting that I write something on it I would probably pass out just trying to think of what to write! Stay cool? Help?! I love my Birkin?

I'm trying to think of what's next in this world of money trees. Taking a Sharpie to the Range Rover? Although now that I think about it Flea, from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, already beat you to that. I used to see him cruising around LA in his spray painted Mercedes sedan. Maybe this defacing of high-priced property is an attempt at salvaging street cred? Who knows.

Oh no, utter confusion is an understatement! I could NEVER ever ever ever even think about taking a SHARPIE (of all things!) onto a Birkin! Ouch. Hurts my heart just thinkin' about it...

Hilarious! Stay cool? Which is what everyone writes in everyone else's yearbooks. Oh so funny.

it's not right!! it's such a slap in the face to those of us who would give our right arm for a birkin!

p.s. stay cool and help are both really good options if you are ever in this gun point situation.:)

Tragic, totally tragic. Perhaps this is their way of showing us how meaningless their fortune is to them? If that bag were mine it would have it's own pillow to sleep on each night, I'd probably name it, talk baby-talk to it and ask it how it's day was :)

You know, she probably made it worth twice as much as it was by doodling on it. Because now it's a Gagag-sharpied Birkin bag.

Tragic. If she doesn't treasure it I'd gladly take it off her hands and give it all the love and affection it deserves! xo katie

You know I think I agree with Fern and Feather...100% street cred.
It's a handbag, the icon of which most of us all adore however...
is the sharpie version real or fiction? I'm not sure it matters if we believe it to be art.
