High End Illusion ...

I'm pretty sure you've seen this Prada art installation before since it was assembled in Marfa, Texas back in 2005 by German artists Elmgreen & Dragset. But I thought this hilarious illusion/oasis would make for a fun Monday workday re-visit. Especially since I used to work for Prada, this whole thing really hits the funny bone. This installation has been shot by many a photographer but I really like how Maison Gray caught the shop in great lighting above and with great irony below. That rolling rack cracks me up.

It's hard to believe that summer is slowly coming to a close. That's why I just had to post this photo of sunbathers in the park. To me, it's still summertime but the cooled down weather and my mailbox are trying to tell me otherwise. I've been finding the latter full of September issues, fall catalogs, and halloween catalogs. Redefining Normal ...

I love the idea of taking something so standard and run of the mill and giving it a fresh, new take like this dry cleaners in Brentwood, CA. Chris Barrett Design is responsible for redefining an otherwise drab atmosphere into something that I would actually look forward to visiting each morning. Now if only Chris Barrett could redefine the decor of post offices and the DMV we'd all be in good shape!

A Serene Cave ...

How amazing and beautiful is this cave in Greece? It's called the Melissani Cave and you can take a complete tour of it by boat. It looks so peaceful and serene. This just makes me want to visit Greece even more. I've never been, have you?

I remember when I started shopping for kids clothes during my first pregnancy Tea Collection was one of my favorite discoveries. Beach Days Forever ...

So my mental health day from Friday ended up carrying into the entire weekend. It was almost too easy since the weather was so beautiful and we had an amazing beach morning on Saturday. That's when I snapped this photo. I was laying out (total rarity), looked up and couldn't think of a better view ... my umbrella against the clear, blue, sunny sky. Aaaand, I even got around to reading my book The Help on the beach! I was really happy about this since I need to finish it before the movie actually comes out–I know, I'm under the gun. Then my weekend was rounded out by seeing some friends yesterday that I hadn't seen in a long time. It was so fun. Really, the weekend was quite magical for me.

I know it's a rarity that I post on the weekend but I totally skipped yesterday's "It's 5pm Somewhere" post. Sorry about that. There were so many things going on that by the time I even had a few minutes to post something I got sidetracked by life. So I let life happen without stressing out about anything. I took a sort of mental health half day, if you will. It was great. Our day started out at the beach in the morning and ended with movie night (we watched the new Phineas and Ferb movie). So in the end it all worked out. Although I'm hoping to take a mental health full day next time. Hope you're having a great weekend so far. Group hug:)

This is Ramya Giangola and her daughter Chiara. A sparkly one-piece and water wings is the perfect ensemble for any little girls summertime pool time. I totally remember my water wings as a kid. Did you have 'em too?

I love the way Lauren Moffatt's daughter Stella is cupping her face and looking directly into her eyes. And can we talk about her cute little striped dress? Those shoulder ruffles! Too cute.
Little Stella reminds me of Scout from To Kill a Mockingbird in this photo. Adorable.

Love these photos of Arizona Muse shot for Vogue UK. The lady-like outfits are very Mad Men-eque, don't you think? The color blocking is great too.
I'm especially drawn to the colors in this outfit. The deep caramel blouse, with charcoal grey skirt, and nude heels are a bit unexpected but work so well. See more great pics here.
