Oscars Morning After ...

Actress Julie Christie at the Beverly Hills Hotel the morning after winning her Oscar for "Darling," April 19, 1966. I love how absolutely "Old Hollywood" glam this snapshot is. The dramatics are amazing. From her nonchalant gaze away from the anxious cameras, to Oscar casually standing at the mics, to the ever lingering smoke. So much eye candy here. Love.

Will you be watching Sunday night? I can't wait, especially for the red carpet. And I'm truly hoping I am pleasantly surprised by co-hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway. I like them individually, but putting them together to host such an event threatens to put me in my uncomfortable zone. What do you think?

Have a great weekend everyone! Group hug:)

i am obsessed, bordering on stalker-status, with james franco. i do not get what the big deal is about anne hathaway... why is she hosting? random. i would have love to have seen alec baldwin + tina fey. now THAT is a dynamic duo.

AWESOME picture.

I definitely will be watching, and like you, crossing my fingers that two actors I enjoy don't bomb and pull off a great show!

I adore this photo. My mother has always had the impression that she "looks like" Julie Christie (we all have allowed this to go on for many years) so I definitely have to show her this post!

Obviously I'm watching. I think I'll skip the live tweeting, though. It takes away from the glitz a little too much. I need to direct my full attention to the small screen. We need to discuss our thoughts post show! Weirded out by the Anne/James duo. It will be decidedly awkward and probably not completely pleasant to watch.

I totally agree with you on the two of them together. I hope it works.

As I am typing this I am also reading Julia's comment and I have to say I kind of agree with her about Anne--I like her but... Oh yes and Alec + Tina would be a total dynamic duo! I think you're on to something Julia.

I will be at the gym, lackadaisically riding the bike just so I can watch the red carpet (we don't have cable), and then quickly run home to watch the actual Oscars.

Julia: Alec + Tina is genius! The Academy needs to tap into your host(s) opinion next year.

I typically don't watch award shows, but I like James Franco and Anne Hathaway. I'm really curious to see those two together. And this photo is PERFECTLY old Hollywood glamour, I agree. I love the black and white, and the lingering smoke...

I think the combination of the two could be great! (or horrible)

I love the smoke in this photo, very 60s...

This photo is gorgeous and so v. glam! I'm really looking forward to the red carpet (obviously) and Anne Hathaway hosting... You're right, the combination of Anne + James makes me a little nervous.

I watched it and loved it! This year, my bf and I watched a few of the nominated films, and were really rooting for "The King's Speech," so we're delighted its won so many accolades.

In other news, how about Cate Blanchet's dress? Just ah-mazing.
