But growing up I wanted the pool that my cousins had. And of course, they always wanted to come to the beach where I lived. The grass is always greener, right? Or in this case "the Polaroid is always dreamier."
The Polaroid Is Always Dreamier ...
These polaroids remind me of how much I love driving along the coast here in San Diego. Especially during the kind of days we've been having this week–the sun has finally greeted us in all its glory! Boards are sticking out of cars every which way right now and the ocean looks amazing.

So true! What if we had both a pool and the ocean? But nothing beats a surfboard sticking out of a car. Happiness!
I agree and these have such a vintage quality to them too!
Oh I love driving along the coastline, windows down, surfboard in the back of the truck :), and seeing the sunlight dance off the water.
These photos are gorgeous!! I love Thayer Allyson Gowdy's work! :)
i love polaroid... you're right, so dreamy! i'm so glad they're not taking away the film forever now!
i love these.
I love these! I had an appt in Cardiff the other day and purposely left my house early and took the 101 down the coast, sunroof open, radio blasting - I think I had a perma-smile on my face ;)
isn't that funny! I do dream about living close to the ocean some day... and get to smell the salt in the air ;)
These polaroids are pretty special. I'm southern california bound next month. I canont wait to count surfboards on car roofs and smell suntan lotion with each step! x Emily
Polaroids are amazing! I wish they were readily available still. Although with Photoshop, you can sort of create the look, but you miss that instant gratification. Which isn't that the whole point?!
