Float ...

When I first moved down to San Diego I got in the water quite a bit. One of my favorite things about surfing wasn't actually the surfing part (because I never got any good) but rather when I would sit there on my board waiting for the next wave. Just listening to the water lap against the board and feeling the sun, like glitter, all around me. Those were genuine, peaceful moments. It's been quite a while since I've surfed but this photo just took me there.

I lived in San Diego thirteen years and loved it. Great memories! Back in Kansas City now however go to visit whenever I can. Come visit for inspiration and giveaway.

I am loving this post. I completely identify with it and (since I'm not strong enough to paddle on my own) I love just sitting there and enjoying the waves in my own way.

Was in southern California briefly this weekend visiting my older brother in West Hollywood and thought of you. It's so nice being back on the west coast though we've yet to technically put our feet in the sand. Tomorrow perhaps...
