Was thinking that it's been far too long since I last saw a show (2008) and how some of my best memories are of shows and concerts. I know some of you have funny and/or interesting stories to share. So with that, I ask you ...
What was the first show/concert you ever went to?
What was the best show/concert you ever went to?
What was the last show/concert you attended?
The first show I went to was actually a performance by Michael Jackson. It was for a benefit my parents took me to when I was 9 or 10. I definitely knew who Michael Jackson was, but had no idea what I was in for. I was amazed and wanted a glove after that–just one. The best show ... there are really too many but by default it will have to be Nirvana since I am so glad I got to see them play before Kurt passed. And the last show I went to was Radiohead's last tour at the Hollywood Bowl (pictured above). It's also a contender for the best. I've seen them play three times but this time was special because I was 5 months pregnant and Eric and I decided to go all out as we've never done before for a show. We had excellent box seats, we valeted the car and had dinner up at their Rooftop Grill. It was so nice but I think Eric was a little embarrassed at first considering this is a guy who used to frequent fIREHOSE shows at random holes in the wall.

best concert - so hard since i have so many good ones... Up in Smoke Tour with snoop/dre/and the crew as a blast... and probably seeing Sublime back in high school and Gwen got on stage to sing Saw Red with them... happy i saw that.
last concert... metric! i love emily haines!
My first -- A concert that my father's company was sponsoring. I was all excited because The Turtles were playing. Being young, I thought that meant the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be playing, but alas, it was some group of old guys.
My best -- The Frames/New Pornographers at the Warsaw in Brooklyn. I woke up the next morning to discover that my roommates had brought two members of the New Pornographers home. I had to direct them back to Hoboken.
My last -- I honestly don't know. I feel like it's been forever since I've been to a concert. Must change that.
I knew you guys would have some good one's! Janet Jackson?! I used to know the entire "Control" video. I thought I was really good.
Erin: Is that JT as in Justin Timberlake? Yes!
Taryn: Paula Abdul? Double yes! Remember Scat Cat? And Color Me Malo? Amazing. I saw a Sublime show with No Doubt in Orange County and I ran into Gwen in the bathroom in her standard overalls and chola make-up (back then). She was nice.
Brandi: So sorry you didn't get to see Donatello.

First if I remember correctly was when I was about 15 - Blur at an enormous outdoor gig at a park in Mile End, East London. Last and currently hands down the best was Thom Yorke solo in Cambridge back in February - utterly spell binding!
