Paul & Linda

This is one of my absolute favorite photos of Paul and Linda. I was so happy when I saw it last week on Lizzie's blog Tomboy Style and haven't stopped thinking about it. I remember sitting at my computer for the longest time when Linda passed trying to write the perfect message to Paul on a website that was dedicated to Linda's memory. I was certain he'd read it. There was just something so cool and natural about their relationship which is so well captured here in this photo. They always looked like they had a lot of fun. Love their style, love their hair, love them.

Hand Signals ...

I like this one. Love goes well with her striped top.

Panda Love ...

I like her cute red hair against the blue of her dress. I like her simple little bouquet of flowers. But more importantly it reminded me that my 3 year old keeps asking if we can go to China to get a pet panda. She's so into panda's lately.

Power Of Letters ...

Oooh ... good one, isn't it?

Honesty ...

Honesty can be funny too.

Yikes. Is honesty truly the best policy? This reminds me of something my friends and I would ponder sometimes. What's worse? ...

A. Your boyfriend/girlfriend telling you that they want to break up because they like someone else? This can be hard because you're angry but really have nothing to be angry at but the honesty itself.
B. Your boyfriend/girlfriend cheating on you. At least you can be angry and know where to focus your anger.

I myself would opt for "A" simply because I'm the type that can easily move on once I've let out all the emotions. What about you?

Happy Anniversary ...

You all know how I feel about keeping it silly.

One day my friend Jody and I were driving back to work from lunch when my cell rang and I could see that it was Eric calling. Now at this point Eric was still a crush and we had just started getting to know each other. So when he called I was so excited and giddy I could hardly contain myself. I paraded my phone around for a few seconds and even made out with it right before I answered it. Here's our convo ...

Me: Hey Eric, what's up? (totally cool)
Eric: Hey, not much. Where are you going?
Me: (Clueless) What do you mean?
Eric: We've been driving next to you guys for a while so I thought I'd see what you guys were up to.
Me: (Speechless, I look over and there he is in the car next to us looking at me with a huge smile).

I never felt so lame in my life! My heart sank to my stomach and I think I punctured Jody's arm with my death grip–I was so embarrassed! To this day Eric claims he never noticed my impromptu make out session with my phone but I think he was just trying to help me salvage my dignity. Five years later I seriously laugh at that story and smile from ear to ear because I married that boy! And today we are so blessed to have each other and our two awesome kids. I absolutely love the life we've created and the family we've built and can't wait to celebrate "us" every single year. I love you Eric!
