- Cozying up as a family in our tent (pictured) that reminded me of Darth Vader
- Making s'mores
- Doing a whole lot of nothing
- Watching the kids run around with wild abandon
- Eric getting all Food Network on us and making eggs, pancakes, bacon, potatoes, tortillas and salsa for breakfast
- Doing a whole lot of nothing
- Going into town to get cinnamon rolls
- Seeing the stars at night by the campfire
- Laughing uncontrollably
Overall, I think this hotel/spa girl did a decent job wearing the camper hat this weekend. What about you? Are you the camping type?

I used to go camping there all the time when I was little. Such great memories. There is nothing quite like beach camping. Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, me and camping are not besties although how you describe it sounds so nice and peaceful. I love being outdoors, just not peeing in it.
I'd really love to be the camping type but I don't know. I've never gotten to try it. I think I'd be okay for at least a few days though -- especially if I was in a place that didn't have mosquitoes.
I always enjoyed it. But now... I don't know...If the camping site was beautifull then why not!
I am not a huge camper. But in a couple of days I'll be going to Kenya for a month, living in an outdoor "campy" compound! I'm pretty nervous to rough it for that long in such a foreign place. Eek.
Very impressed : )
That's an amazing Darth Vader tent!! How fun!!? I think I was a camper/hiker in another life. But just not this one. Haha! Sounds like it was a great time!!
I'm not the camping type. Far from it. But I had the same good feeling experiences in the odd occasion I went camping with the family.
First time was quite traumatic because I was a newlywed and my new husband took me camping without any forewarning. I had never been camping before or watched what people took or did at camping... so I was pretty much clueless. Major shock! I even dragged the tent a few feet whenever I went inside to pick up something ahahah.
After that traumatic ordeal - and don't get me going through the public bath and toilet shock - I draw the line and told him - no more singleton camping. I'm a duchess but I expect to be treated as a Queen when on camping, and since then we've been often - specially after kids were born - camping and never again was a traumatic experience.
It isn't in my top 5 of favorite things to do but I enjoy it very much for all the reasons you cite plus being lulled by nature sounds to sleep.
I'm much more a spa/hotel girl myself. but I did go camping once with my girlfriend in big sur after we graduated from college. I went to visit her in san francisco and we drove down the coast. it was so beautiful and surprisingly really enjoyed it! I would definitely do it again...
I am too paranoid to camp. I live in fear of the other campers all being murderers and I am their next victim. If they don't get me for sure the starving bear will...or the hungry mountain lion. I love everything about camping that you mentioned, but my fear keeps me from being able to enjoy it.
Oh and a third fear is that I won't put out the campfire properly and start a huge forest fire in which I burn alive because my tent was too close to the fire and in my panic I couldn't unzip the tent. (wow just call me debbie downer with this comment.)
yay so fun! i'm a 2 night max camper but in the back of my mind, i'm with bianca and i totally live in fear of being murdered the entire time. i've seen law and order. i know what could happen out there.
yay for camping! i went camping myself for the first time a few months ago and throughly enjoyed it! i never grew up camping and so wish i did. i need to do it more often!
Good for you! I am definitely not the camping type. I hate bugs and I think every stick breaking is Freddy or Jason or a bear. But I used to love it when I was little, so this makes me kind of sad. Maybe I'll get back into it when the girls are old enough to want to do it. Anything for s'mores. ;)
Looks and sounds like a fun weekend!
I do love camping. I'm definitely someone who likes a good massage and some retail therapy, but surprisingly camping works for me. It's such a fun way to see an area and relax, too. Glad you had such a terrific trip!
