No Fuss Image ...

It seems odd for a beauty image, but I really, really like this new ad for M/Mink Eau de Parfum. It's so interesting because it's the antithesis of your average perfume advertisement. The model has a hat on (gasp!), no flowing, long hair or fluffy post-production flair. It's supposed to look like spilled ink and it's obvious that the image is of a girl–perhaps me or you? And that's it.

So as I read further about this new scent it was no surprise that this particular fragrance was created by two graphic artists. They projected an image first, then created this scent. Which apparently is the opposite of perfume industry standards. I think it's brilliant and it makes me want to check it out. Especially since I've been searching high and low for a new fragrance for too long now! For years it's been Burberry classic for me, which I loved but now that I've had kids my body chemistry just doesn't bode well with it anymore. Now I'm curiously hopeful that M/Mink is my answer.

Do you have any favorite scents? Would love to hear your suggestions ...

It's "Like This" ...

Even though I'm a fan, I don't necessarily link Tilda Swinton (current face of Pringle of Scotland) w/perfume. But that's exactly what's happening. I always kind of thought there was a certain cheese factor with celeb perfumes. But with Tilda somehow it doesn't seem cheesy, but rather cool. Especially with the name she chose ... "Like This." Why? Because when she's asked what it smells like she says, "like this."

P.S. Just realized this was my 200th post! Can't believe it, time flies when you're having fun:)
