As much as I wanted to post a cute outfit or fun drink for tonight, I felt it my civic duty to remind you to drink water as much as possible this evening. I think my rule of thumb was 1 glass of water for every couple of drinks or something like that. Even if you're not planning on driving (good for you!) you'll thank yourself on New Year's day. Trust me–I may or may not be speaking from experience;)
Do you have any resolutions for the new year? One thing I started doing recently, and resolve to keep doing, is saying "I get to" whenever I come across a frustrating moment. Sitting in traffic ... "I get to sit in traffic." Screaming kids ... "I get to hear my kids scream." Make a mistake ... "I get to learn from this mistake." You get the idea, right? I came across this mantra one night while happening upon a segment of Joel Osteen. And let me tell you, it quickly puts things into perspective because it's true, things can always be worse.
So with that my friends, I wish everyone a wonderful, safe evening and a happy, healthy new year! And a heartfelt thank you for hanging out with me here at Happenstance this past year. Here's to many more! Group hug:)

Happy New Year! Thank YOU for instating the group hug. I always feel better.
I get to...that's pretty perfect! and in my case this means...I get to help, observe, watch, listen to my 7th grader work on his science fair project today! Taking a moment to read your post today came at the exact moment I needed it...so thank you!!
and wishing you a very happy new year!
