"Wild World" ...

The day I moved out of my parents house they sat me down and played "Wild World" by Cat Stevens for me. It was such a moment because we were, and still are, very close. To this day whenever I hear this song I get teary-eyed. It happened again yesterday and this time I thought about when P, now 4, will want to move out. I really get it now.

Awww... that is one heartwarming post. It melts my heart to think that a day would come that my little son would leave our home too ♥

One of my favorite songs. Great post Haydee! It got me a little choked up! xo

I just got chills, Haydes. I can't even believe Charlie will ever move out...

Also, I never really understood the meaning of the song until you just mentioned it. Also, your little pow wow with your parents totally reminded me of the scene in "Almost Famous" when Zooey Deschanel lectures her little brother about listening to and appreciating her rock and roll records...

aww this just made me teary-eyed! i actually get nostalgic and sad EVERY time i leave my parent's house... i always flashback to the day i drove out of the driveway to move to the dorms at SDSU, watching my parents waving goodbye... so sad but SO exciting too!

this is one of my all time favorites as well... It was on every mixed tape in high school. The other one that gets me in a similar weepy spot is Danny's Song {Loggins and Messina}.

Fun Tweet Sess last night ;)!

Wow, I love this story. What a wonderful song for that occasion. I'll think of this too when I hear that song from now on. :)

How cool of your parents! Makes me realize it's the little things that make special memories.. And now you have this connection whenever either of you hear that song. I love it.
