Our Anniversary Getaway! ...

Yup, Eric and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary last weekend! I'm only telling you now 'cause we just got back from our getaway yesterday. What's more is that it was our first overnight getaway without the kids! Indeed, this was a double milestone. So we decided to run off to beautiful Santa Barbara. Even in the rain and cold we had a great time. And thankfully we were well equipped for the weather. Even random dude with his wetsuit and fins.
We walked the entire time in the rain and I loved it! It was really romantic actually. Especially when we stumbled upon this great Danish bakery called Andersen's on State Street. Our pastries and coffee were perfection. Prior to this we had lunch at Jeannine's where we had this amazing Italian Wedding soup, but I forgot to take photos–sorry, I was famished. I also did not take any photos of our awesome hotel, Canary! Luckily you can see pics of the hotel here. The Spanish and Moroccan style and decor was exactly what I wanted in Santa Barbara.
As luck would have it, the sun made its way through the clouds on our final day as we drove the coast home through Malibu. The scenery and food at Neptune's Net were amazing! Eric had the fish and chips and I had the perfect cheeseburger and fries. Once again, perfection!
The rest of our drive home was fun and adventurous. I couldn't believe the views on either side of us, nature all around. Overall, it was a wonderful celebration of our amazing six years and two kids together. I have the best husband ever!

Oh, Haydee, I'm so glad you two had a wonderful anniversary getaway. You look adorable. And very random guy in fins. California never ceases to amaze me.

Aw, so glad to see that you had a wonderful time celebrating! A getaway to Santa Barbara sounds so lovely - I've always wanted to go visit! I love that you saw a random guy with a wetsuit...I guess with all that rain, it makes so much sense (though I can't imagine it would be comfortable, especially with those flippers!). But good food, plus beautiful beach...it looks fantastic :)

Happy anniversary! I'm an alumna of UCSB and those pictures of State Street are making me homesick...last time I was up there, it was rainy and we ended up at Andersen's, too. I need a road trip there, and fast!
