Who, Us? ...

The Aldridge's ... Jane (Sea of Shoes) and Judy (Atlantis Home) at the Chictopia conference.

So earlier this week The Sartorialist had a very thought-provoking post about how it's only a matter of time before designers open up their shows to people like us (fashion fans, bloggers, etc.). And then a couple of days later I run into this over at WWD. I like the idea of being able to attend a show but what do you think? Would you attend a show if you could? If the fashion floodgates are opened up do you think the free-spirited nature of blogging will be tarnished? Or should everyone just relax and have fun?–I'm partial to the latter. Let's hear it ...

Such a cool shot! I would love to attend the shoes---I was supposed to go to a Milly show when I lived in Manhattan last year (my boss decorated her apartment that was featured in Elle Decor), but I spaced and missed it---duh! Such a bummer. I can't wait until high fashion becomes more accessible---it's only a matter of time! XO

I say go! I just read that Roxy had a pre-showing for invited bloggers for the Fall 10 line! I read it in a company email this morning...I think it's great. I definitely think that with print magazines losing their steam (we both personally know that) that blogs are where people turn to get fashion advice. I buy stuff all the time that I've seen on blogs...it's rare that I pick up an actual magazine anymore. I still get about 10 a month...but they pile up in my office!

i would go in a nano-second! plus, i'd way rather see what bloggers have to say from first-hand, front row experience than see the those seats were wasted on lindsay lohan!

Good question. I think that bloggers who are able to reach Jane/Judy's status rightfully deserve being at those shows. They're intelligent woman (otherwise they wouldn't have loyal followers), certainly impact the fashion world, and are part of "new media." So why not!

P.S. I went shopping and had lunch with Judy in Dallas in January....she is the sweetest and SO down to earth! Would love to meet Jane next time :)

Happy Weekend!
